To get anywhere in life you have to take risks. Calculated risks but risks all the same. And taking any risk regardless of what it is requires faith. Without faith you're destined to fail and fall. You've got to believe that what you're about to embark on will and can result in success. Any form of doubt or half-heartedness will end in disaster. It's the same with the things of God. To believe in a God we cannot see or feel naturally with the human eye requires faith. That's why it's written that without faith, it's impossible to please God because you have to believe He is who He says He is and able to do what He says He can do.
Now having faith is great - now you believe but it must go a step further. Your faith has to have action. Faith isn't just saying 'yeah I believe such and such will happen' it's also backing it up with action. You believe that when you turn the tap, water will come pouring out and that's why you follow your faith in the tap with the action of physically turning it and voila - water. This is a very basic example but the truth is the same that you can believe but to get it you're gonna have to act on your faith.
I always state wherever I can that I am a Christian but I am not religious. There's a difference and that's for another day and another post entirely. I've been a Christian for some time now but not until very recently did I understand this truth or even principle if you will. 'A double minded man is unstable in all his ways' - you have to be made up in your mind and be steadfast on it. See you can believe in something but not really have faith in it and as I said in the beginning, no faith, no risk, no gain.
I urge you to go after the things you believe in regardless of what you think people will say or do...it's not about them anyway. Be afraid of nothing and no one, you entered alone, you'll die alone so living your life the way you think people want you to is a waste of time. Have faith, apply it and back it with your actions and there has to be a reward!

Faith is the substance of things hope for and the evidence of things not seen. it is so wierd that the people of faith find it hard to operate in faith.
In the words of your lil sis "fanta!". I totally agree with you. Faith without works is dead but in order to do these works you need faith.
