August is for Discipline

Hi.  My name is Hannah.  I like to shop.  I have a shoe and bag addiction.  I think it's not just that I am female but an African female as to why I am addicted to shoes'n'bags in particular.  For the month of August I will not be spending any money on material goods. No shoes, clothing or handbags for the entire month. That’s right one whole month.

This is going to require discipline for me. I have become a fully-fledged internet shopper and that’s where the problem lies. Now I have my laptop, I can be bidding on eBay at work, checking out stores and sales internationally whilst in between phone calls.

I am doing this because I do think that discipline is important and necessary for everyone. We need to be able to use the word no to ourselves and others when we know we should. Plus I need to work on saving moneys. I am no good at that and want no need to be better. So Augusts pay will go into my savings. I’ll be documenting the whole thing on here for you week by week.

Someone else that will be documenting their own journey into self-control is Calum Best. If you’re not familiar with the name he is son to the late football legend and later alcoholic George Best. Calum is doing a show where he gives up sex for x amount of days. Wow wee! It’s not even months or a year at least. I know people that haven’t had sex for a month heck I know people who haven’t had sex period. I don’t understand what the point of the show is and I do not intend to watch to find out. Stupid boy hasn’t he anything better to do? Seriously what does he do? And why does it seem like ‘they’re’ trying really hard to make him into something? My advice to you Calum; go and sit down somewhere.

I am not going to spend any money this whole month! I should be given airtime and I bet you it’d be much better than Calum’s piece of poo show!
